UPDATE ON THE 'OTODOGBAME COMMUNITY' #HEALTHALERT This morning the Rural Urban Development Initiative [RUDI] team paid a visit to #Otodogbame #Slum Community in #Eti_Osa Local Govt Area to ascertain the story earlier published on teenage and little children dying due to restricted access to #Medical Services and confirmed the situation to be as reported. While speaking with the Bale, youth and community leaders; the bereaved parents still grieving, recounted their ordeal. According to them, they lost over 70 children within six week. In the present of health workers from the Federal, State and Local Governments directed to attend to the health need of the community due to the widely publicized outcry on the 9th and 10th of February 2016; Otodogbame community recorded another case of two deaths. The health officials however mentioned that residents of the community did not allow them to carry out the polio vaccine exercise due to fear and suspicion that it might be a ploy by the #Ikate Monarch and people to poison the whole community as a result of the long time land feud between the communities.
